Gina Crawford wins 2013 Sunshine Coast 70.3

Hi John, I hope you are well.

I had a great race in the weekend. Winning the Ironman 70.3 Sunshine Coast. This was the first time this race was held and the rumor is, is that it will the 70.3 world champs course in 2016. It's a great course. I finished with a really good run. I came off the bike in 2nd 2.5 min behind the winner. I caught her at around 7k but had the very fast running Kiyomi Niwata (formally from the ITU) chasing hard behind me. She was running faster than the male winner Pete Jacobs at the beginning and caught me at around 11k. I then ran with her for a while, then picked up my pace and got away from her, taking the victory by about 1 minute. It was a great feeling to have such a good run and hopefully a good sign that things are on track for Kona in under 4 weeks.
Thanks for your support, Gina
